A different look.

In English we can look at somebody or something in very different ways, and so, we have different ways to express it.
Here you have some verbs related to the action of "looking" and their meaning:


  • Peek: look quickly.
  • Gape: stare with mouth open.
  • Stare: look at someone or something directly for a long time.
  • Gaze: stare.
  • Sport: to detect.
  • Glance -  glimpse: see briefly.
  • Peep (n.): quick or secretive look. Peep (v.). look timidly.
          Peep into something (spy) / peep out: look furtively.
